En las instalaciones de Hierro-Acero, los materiales de hierro-acero son transportados por elevadores magnéticos y estos elevadore magnéticos requieren tensión de CC suministrado por un rectificador magnético de elevación. Los rectificadores magnéticos del elebación de PMI se diseñan para uso resistente y consisten en puentes del rectificador del tiristor para convertir la entrada de la CA en la de CC. Para la mejor protección en caso de interrupción de red, se aplican aislamiento galvánico al transformador de entrada de aislamiento y en brazo de CC.
